The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking to keep the momentum going that was generated in a wild 6-5 overtime win over Boston on Saturday.
Bill Guerin scored the game-tying goal with 0.4 seconds remaining in regulation and
Pascal Dupuis scored in overtime for his 100th career goal to give the Pens the win.
On Monday night, the Anaheim Ducks visit the Mellon Arena.
These same two teams met on Nov. 3 in Anaheim
in a game that Pittsburgh won 4-3. Dupuis scored the eventual game-winning goal in that contest as well.
The Ducks are 2-4 in November and are on a three-game losing streak. On Saturday, they lost 7-4 to the Detroit Red Wings, but star center Ryan Getzlaf figured in on all four goals with a goal and three assists in the game.
The Penguins were under siege for the final minutes of the game on Nov. 3 and held on for the win thanks to Sidney Crosby stacking the pads in the crease to help out Marc-Andre Fleury.
Mike Rupp, Kris Letang and Alex Goligoski also scored for the Pens.
The Penguins will need to limit the number of chances the Ducks' top line of Getzlaf (two goals, 20 assists), Corey Perry (13 goals, 10 assists) and Bobby Ryan (eight goals, five assists) get in the game.
Those three players are the top three point-scorers on the Ducks roster.
Tonight will also be former-Penguin Ryan Whitney's first game back at the Igloo after being traded to the Ducks for Chris Kunitz and Eric Tangradi at the deadline last season.
In goal, Jonas Hiller holds a 6-7-2 record with a 3.03 GAA and .910 save percentage on the season.
The Penguins saw Evgeni Malkin return to the lineup against the Bruins and play alongside Crosby. The same duo is expected to play together again tonight.
According to the
Penguins' official Website, the same lines that were used against Boston will be used tonight against the Ducks with the only change being in goal.
After being given the night off against the Bruins, Fleury (10-6-0, 2.52 GAA, .904 save percentage) is expected to get the start tonight.
There is a possibility that the lineup changes a little.
The Penguins called up Nate Guenin early Monday morning and could replace Alex Goligoski is he is unable to play.
The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m. and can be seen on FSN Pittsburgh.
