Report: Malone Could Sign Deal With Tampa Bay

(KDKA) The Tampa Bay Lightning didn't trade negotiating rights to former-Pittsburgh Penguin Ryan Malone so they could watch him get to free agency and skate away.

The Tampa Tribune is reporting that a long-term deal for Malone with the Lightning is in the works.

According the report, the deal could be seven years for $31 million or more.

Also, according to other reports, the Lightning have also hired Malone's father to their scouting staff.
