Fans Cheer On Pens At Market Square Pep Rally

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Penguins enter Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight and to get pumped, fans are invited to a rally Downtown this afternoon.

Penguins' fans can catch some spirit beginning today at 4:45 p.m. in Market Square.

KDKA's Keith Jones and Sonni Abatta will emcee the event featuring music and Penguins trivia.

Meanwhile, in what is becoming a bit of a tradition, once the puck drops, the Penguins will again have the game playing on an LCD big screen outside Mellon Arena for fans that couldn't snag tickets to the game.

But for those fans with tickets, the Penguins are calling for a "whiteout" inside Mellon Arena.

Officials with the team say they will pass out white t-shirts to fans in attendance tonight in order to create a whiteout in the stands.

The game starts at 7 p.m. and fans are excited especially with the match-up against former Penguin, Jaromir Jagr.

"We've got to show them, shut them down early like Ottawa," said one fan. "And definitely shut down Jagr."

"I think they are really hungry," another fan said this afternoon. "I think it'll be tough, but they'll make it in six."

Stay with KDKA for all the latest news on the Penguins' Stanley Cup Playoff run.
