The NHL Free Agency period is in full swing and the Penguins have seen some losses and gains.
But given their position under the salary cap, there was not much big news from the Pens on Wednesday.
They continue to look for ways to create some space to perhaps bring back either Ruslan Fedotekno or Rob Scuderi.
That might include making a trade or two to facilitate that.
Meanwhile, here are the moves so far:
- The Penguins lost defenseman Hal Gill to the Montreal Canadiens which signed him to a two-year deal for a total of $4.5 million.
- The Penguins signed Mike Rupp, a big 6'5" 240-pound checking line enforcer. He got a two-year deal for $800,000 per year.
The biggest names to change teams:
- Marian Hossa signs for 12 years and $62 million with the Chicago Blackhawks
- Marian Gaborik gets $7.5 million a year for five years with the New York Rangers
- Mike Knuble leaves Philly to sign a two-year deal with Washington
