Pens: Gonchar Out With Broken Wrist

Blog: Penguins Blog | Pens Win, Lose Gonchar For Up To 6 Weeks

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Penguins announced this afternoon that defenseman Sergei Gonchar will miss the next four- to six-weeks with a broken wrist.

Gonchar suffered the injury after colliding with another player and falling to the ice during last night's game against the St. Louis Blues.

He left the ice during the second period and team doctors evaluated his injury this morning.

At a news conference today, the Penguins said Gonchar's injury would not require surgery.

The Pens went on to beat the Blues by a final score of 5-1.
