It's been more than six decades since any NHL team has been able to rally from a three-game deficit in the Stanley Cup finals; but the Penguins are optimistic about tonight's game in Detroit.
Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby knows what's at stake tonight in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals.
"We know what we have to do," Crosby told reporters after Saturday's loss. "We gotta win to stay alive, it's pretty clear and simple."
With the Red Wings leading the best-of-seven series 3 games to one, it's 'do or die' for the Pens.
The Pens must win tonight in Detroit to avoid elimination.
While it's certainly an uphill battle for the Pens, one team has managed to battle back from a 3-1 series deficit to go on and win the Stanley Cup.
The Toronto Maple Leafs did it in 1942 against the Detroit Red Wings!
Though tonight's game is in Detroit, fans can watch the game at Mellon Arena.
Tickets are $5 and proceeds will go to the Mario Lemieux Foundation.
