The Penguins perfect road record came to an end Thursday night in Los Angeles as the Kings scored four goals in the third period for the victory.
The Kings ended the Pens seven-game streak on the road with the 5-2 win at the Staples Center.
Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 27 shots, but he couldn't slow down a third-period barrage by the Kings.
The Kings' Anze Kopitar scored just 27 seconds after the opening faceoff when Pittsburgh's poor transition defense allowed Justin Williams to slip the puck to him for an unimpeded rush at the net.
But only 43 seconds later, the Penguins' Jordan Staal fired a long slap shot past Kings' goalie Jonathan Quick to tie the game at 1-1.
The Pens went ahead midway through the second period when Chris Kunitz made a mid-air deflection of Brooks Orpik's shot. It rattled off the far post and behind Quick.
Kopitar's second goal tied it early in the third for the Kings. And Jarrett Stoll scored the go-ahead goal with 7:51 to play.
Michal Handzus scored on a rebound just 23 seconds after Stoll. Also, Kings' captain Dustin Brown added a goal with 2:30 left during a delayed penalty.
The Kings improved to 6-0-2 in their last eight games, while he Pens dropped to 2-2 without Evgeni Malkin. Defenseman Sergei Gonchar also remains out of the lineup.
Quick made 21 saves.
The Penguins next take on the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night at 10:30 p.m.
