Pens Fans Riding High Following Game 2 Win

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Penguins continue their Stanley Cup playoff dominance with last night's huge 4 to 2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Pens now have a 2-0 lead in the eastern conference finals.

They head to the Wachovia Center in the City of Brotherly Love to play the Flyers tomorrow night at 7:30.

It's an arena where the Penguins have not won a game all regular season

But Penguins fans say you don't have all that much to be worried about when your fourth line is scoring game winning goals.

Max Talbot, who had been out of the lineup for three games with a broken foot, scored the go-ahead goal.

Fans are still talking about the game.

"Awesome, awesome. What a champion," said Jared Simon of Wexford. "Coming back did it for the team. He threw himself around and still did amazing. He does his job all the time."

But Penguins fans, riding high on the team's 10-1 postseason performance, say that these kinds of unbelievable plays just aren't so surprising anymore.

"They just really came together," said Matt Bernini of Plum. "They just have such a great chemistry. Everybody just came together in the playoffs. It's wonderful."

"I think it's been a lot of good GM work to be honest with you," said Steve Gradeck of West View. "I mean also, they've been lucky because they got the good picks in the draft with Malkin and Crosby. You have a combination of some really perfect stories coming together. With Lemieux coming up to own the team and them getting the new arena, I think things are just coming together at the right time."

"The fact that the team is really young this year shows a lot of potential and exciting games for next year too," said Deirdre Hall of the Hill District. "Even if we can't win this year, we still have a lot of hope and potential for next year too."

If you are looking for a place to watch Tuesday's game the giant screen outside Mellon Arena will once again be on.

KDKA's Jory Rand is headed to Philadelphia today and will have live coverage starting tomorrow.
