While Penguins superstar Evgeni Malkin didn't claim the two awards he was up for Thursday night at the NHL Awards show, he did pick up his trophy for leading the league in scoring this season.
Malkin, the MVP of the Stanley Cup Finals, was in the running for the Hart Trophy and the Pearson Award, but both went to Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin.
The Hart Trophy goes to the player most valuable to his team during the regular season, and the Pearson Award is voted on by fellow players.
This is the second year Ovechkin has won.
But Malkin was able to pick up the Art Ross Trophy in addition to the Conn Smythe Trophy he claimed last week when the Pens beat the Detroit Red Wings to win the Stanley Cup.
Malkin finished the regular season with 113 points, three more than Ovechkin.
