With a four game sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes, the Pittsburgh Penguins are now headed back to the Stanley Cup finals.
And this time, team captain Sidney Crosby is trying to change the team's luck by violating a long standing superstition that says you don't touch the conference trophy.
Fans, for the most part, are saying, "Who cares?"
"I wanted to change things up," said Crosby. "We didn't touch it last year. We might as well as grab it and get a picture with it and move on and go after the one we want."
This is not the first time a Penguin has made off with the goods on the way to the Stanley Cup.
It happened after 1991, after the Pens won their first of four Wales Conference trophies.
They went onto win the Stanley Cup that year and the next year even after Mario Lemieux touched both times.
The fans are saying it is OK. In the end, superstitions and trophies don't win championships.
"Stay home if you're superstitions," said Darryl Whiteside, of Pittsburgh. "That's all there is to it. They are going to do it though."
"I'd let them hold it. Let them pass it around. Let's show it off. That's another pride for Pittsburgh," said Tom McAllister, of Pittsburgh. "That is another trophy on the mantle."
In addition, to Lemieux touching the conference trophy and still winning the Stanley Cup, captains from the Red Wings have touched it, as well as the Dallas Stars and the Devils' captain even touched it twice.
They all ended up winning the Stanley Cup.
