Penguins Reach One-Year Deal With Bill Guerin

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Penguins have reached a deal with Bill Guerin.

The Stanley Cup Champions signed the 17-year NHL veteran to a one-year contract.

The deal is reportedly worth approximately $2.8 million.

Traded to Pittsburgh from the New York Islanders in March, Guerin, 38, was placed as a right wing on Sidney Crosby's line.

Guerin had 7 goals in the Pens' playoff run and 21 goals in the 2008-09 regular season with the Penguins and Islanders.

"He made a tremendous impact on this team with his scoring ability, physical play and outstanding leadership and was a key factor in our drive to the Cup. I know our players, coaches and fans will be happy to have him back in Pittsburgh," Penguins GM Ray Shero said in a statement.
