Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was knocked out of Sunday's game and his backup, Charlie Batch was injured as well.
Now the Steelers are facing what could be a major problem going into a huge game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Roethlisberger may have suffered a concussion-like injury and Batch will need wrist surgery which will keep him out for at least six weeks.
It all happened in overtime against the Kansas City Chiefs. Roethlisberger was running for the sticks and took a Derrick Johnson knee to the head.
He stayed on the ground while the medical staff surrounded him.
When he left, he looked dazed.
Batch entered the game and threw a pass that completed a first down, but his next pass wobbled like a wounded duck.
Somewhere during his four plays, he broke his wrist and will now need surgery which will end his regular season.
Now the question is who starts Sunday night in Baltimore in a huge divisional game?
Roethlisberger underwent neurological tests Monday. If he gets medical clearance he will start.
But if he does not, the only other quarterback they have is second-year man Dennis Dixon.
He has only played in one NFL game and is considered to be very raw.
There are veteran options out there like Jeff Garcia who was released from the Oakland Raiders or Cleo Lemon who spent time with the Miami Dolphins.
But later this afternoon, Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette of the PG reports the Steelers appear to be confident Roethlisberger will be able to play on Sunday.
Bouchette also said that the Steelers may sign Tyler Palko to the practice squad. Palko played at Pitt and West Allegheny High School.
That would mean Dixon would back him up and the Steelers would look to perhaps sign a younger quarterback off someone's practice squad.
