WPIAL: No Suspension For Basketball Players

MOON TWP (KDKA) ― The WPIAL is not suspending student athletes after a fight following a weekend playoff game.

Jeannette's Terrelle Pryor and his teammates on the basketball team got into an altercation with players from North Catholic after the Jayhawks won 86-60.

It's been reported that words exchanged during the game may have played a role in this fight.

But during a hearing in Moon Township, WPIAL decided not to suspend anyone because they couldn't determine who all was involved in the fight.

However, both schools will have to enroll in an anger management/conflict resolution classes.

The WPIAL will place both schools on probation for two years and they must immediately submit guidelines on how they plan to control student athletes.

They will also censure each school's principal, coaches and athletic administrations.

Jeannette will be able to play tomorrow.
