August 26 - Daily Soaps Update

NEW YORK (CBS) ― Here are the daily soap opera summaries for "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "As The World Turns," and "Guiding Light."

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Nick finds Nikki at the Mexican bar, and Nikki shares with Nick that Victor is gone. Nick and Nikki speak to the authorities about widening the search parameters, but they inform them that they've given up and issued Victor's death certificate, since no one could have survived the wild storm. Michael catches Adam sitting in Victor's office chair.

Adam states that now that he is in charge of Newman Enterprises, there are going to be some major changes. Adam presents Michael with a fax of Victor's death certificate from the Mexican authorities. Adam's first order of business as head of Newman is firing Neil. Michael replies to Adam that as executor of the will, he's going to contest it in court and say that Victor wasn't mentally stable when he appointed Adam head of the estate in his will.

Upon hearing that Neil was fired, Karen gives Adam a piece of her mind and then quits. Victoria calls Nikki and asks her to come back to Genoa City as soon as possible. Just as Nick and Nikki are about to leave Mexico, the bartender receives a call saying that a body has just washed up onshore and the authorities need Nikki to identify it. Chloe and Cane arrive at the judge's office to get their marriage license, but have to wait around for the judge to come back. Cane erupts and admits to Chloe that if he didn't want to be a proper man to her and the baby, he'd put her on a plane and never speak to her again. Chloe bursts into tears.

Devon confides in Lily that he thinks Ana should go away to music school. Ana overhears and clings to Devon, saying that she doesn't want to go. Later, they convince Ana go to away to music school.


THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Stephanie tries to strong-arm Owen into implicating an accomplice, but is unsuccessful. A day at Bikini Beach becomes steamy when Marcus and Steffy meet. Stephen pours his heart out to Beth in hopes of rekindling their relationship. After Donna had frantically set out to find who really poisoned Eric, she comes to her own conclusion of who should be behind bars.


AS THE WORLD TURNS

Alison gets flowers at the hospital and assumes they're from Aaron but when Aaron sees they're from Chris, he is upset. He sends Chris a message from Alison saying to meet her at the Lakeview, knowing they'll be there for an engagement party Susan is giving for them. Later, Chris tells Dani he's not available because he thinks he still has a chance with Alison. When he arrives at the Lakeview, he's shocked to hear Aaron making a toast to his fiance. Alison sees him and goes after him, wondering why he's there. When he tells her she invited him, she realizes what happened. He asks if she really wants to marry Aaron and she says she does. Later, she scolds Aaron for tricking Chris in her name, but says she's going to marry him.

Holden comes to Lily to get the kids to go to Alison and Aaron's engagement party and they end up having an argument because Lily had prior plans to take them out with Mike. Holden thinks it's too premature to get Mike involved in their lives. Lily is hurt that she wasn't invited to the party but covers and says she'll drop the kids off. When Aaron sees her, he insists she stay because she's part of the family and Lily cancels her date with Mike. Afterwards, Holden and Lily bring the kids home together and decide that maybe it's possible to be apart but still be a family.

Emily tells Casey she doesn't want him to come to the engagement party because it's a family event. He gets upset then ends up coming with Dani. When Emily sees him with Dani, she gets jealous and takes him away from her. Casey is pleased and tells Emily nothing bad happens when they're in public together.


GUIDING LIGHT

Olivia and Natalia discuss Alan's brain blockage. Natalia believes the visions could be real but Olivia thinks they are ridiculous. Olivia skips out on her doctor's appointment again. Natalia receives news that she is able to see Rafe. Natalia tells Rafe that she called in the tip to the police so something like this wouldn't happen. She tells him about Alan's illness which could be causing the visions. Lizzie is angry with Bill for selling out Alan. Jeffrey approaches them and informs them that Alan is missing. Lizzie notices a few of his belongings including his passport are missing. Lizzie admits that she may not testify against Alan and explains his condition to Jeffrey. Jeffrey yells at her and Bill takes Jeffrey's side. Bill encourages Lizzie to do what's best for her, not what's best for Alan.

Doris arrives at the police station and tells Jeffrey she intends to put Rafe in prison for good. Ava's clinic director calls Jeffrey asking for permission to change Ava's treatment. Jeffrey takes the fax from the clinic to Olivia to get her opinion but she rips up the form and leaves Jeffrey in charge.

Reva receives her wedding dress and Josh walks in while she is admiring it. He hints that he is still determined to win her back and they discuss their son Shayne. Reva writes an email to Shayne after Josh leaves to tell him about the wedding. Lizzie seeks advice from Reva. After talking to Reva about Alan, Lizzie knows that she needs to find him and do all that she can. During a meeting, Josh reveals to Bill that he got a phone call from Alan who is in New York on a spiritual journey. Bill puts the pieces together and realizes that Alan is in New York trying to take over the company, not spiritual treatment. Bill tells Lizzie that Alan is in New York and she is excited to find him. He makes plans to follow her to New York. Jeffrey comes home and surprises Reva with the idea of leaving and getting married.
