Self-Tanners: Do They Really Do That?

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― There are always self tanners, but when it comes to self tanners, it's not just "Do they really do that?", but do we really want to be the color that some of them turn us and for how long?

Amy Adelman used to love to lie in the sun and work on her tan, but that was before she became a mom.

Amy says she'd never tried self tanners on her body before, but agreed to let us use all four limbs for our test.

We picked four popular products – the "As Seen on TV and now available in drugstores "Salon Bronze for $20, a pricey department store brand Clairins for $30, Loreal Sublime for $9 and Paradise Gold Progressive Tan for $8.

But do the self-tanners live up to the hype?

Adelman says, "I would buy two products. I would buy the Clairins definitely for upkeep. And I would buy the Salon Bronze just to have in case I needed to be tan because it did have a beautiful color."
