Final Countdown On For DTV Switch

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The countdown is nearing the end for the switch to digital television on Friday.

Experts say the DTV switch will provide viewers with better sound, picture along with more channels and programming.

According to an estimate from Nielsen Ratings, as of May 24th, 1.04 percent of households in Pittsburgh are still not ready for the DTV transition.

But there are several local places to find help if you're still unsure about the switch.

Here are some places you can visit:

DTV Mobile Clinic

  • New Castle, Pa. 16101
  • When: June 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.


There are also local walk-in centers providing help:

It's not too late to get coupons for converter boxes. Consumers have until July 31st to get them. To order a coupon call 1-888-CALL-FCC and remember that once you receive the coupon, they do expire.
