The Beauty Editor: Beauty Gadgets

(KDKA) Sometimes certain grooming situations need extra help. Here are a few products that can go the extra mile to solve the problems.

Beauty Gadgets --

Hair trimming for the face:

Nose and ear hair trimmer- not a glamorous topic but a very important tool if you have this problem. The manual rotating blade safely trims in one step or use a round tip scissor.

Small battery trimmer-you may have seen these on TV or in the drug or grocery store. This is a good tool to trim smaller areas such as on top of the ears(on older folks) and around the corners of the upper lip. Tiny straight razors w/ a handle are good too.

Light up tweezer-this really works when you have trouble seeing closely. The tiny light simulates daylight for a clear look at what you are doing, the small magnifying glass is a big help too.

Scissor handled tweezer-good for hands with arthritis or stiffness.

For the eyes:
Eye brow stencils- a guide to create your brows when you don't have any(such as w/ chemo patients), sparse or fair hair brows.

Metal eye lash comb-separtes lashes if you used too much mascara, us while the mascara is still wet.

Lash replacement kit- from Sephora, a false eye lash holder and applicator for easy application and removal of false lashes. Great for storage, keeps lashes in great shape while not in use.

Skin:
Blackhead remover- gently center this tool over a blackhead and press for extraction.

Soft pumice stone-to gently remove dead skin from rough areas such as elbows and knees.

Soap saver-collect your last slivers of soap in this mesh bag to use your soap to the very end while you exfoliate your skin in the shower or bath. Bonus, no soap scum mess!

Nails, hand and feet:
New foot smoothing disk by Sally Hanson La Cross, angled for the foot, it gently removes dead skin and is easy to clean.

Ingrown nail file and cuticle pusher(also by Sally Hanson)- helps relieve the pain of ingrown nails by using the tool at the point of the ingrown nail. Read instructions before use.

Cuticle sticks w/ pumice ends-disposable cuticle pushers that are great to remove excess skin and old polish from nails.

Cuticle stone(very smooth)- gently use wet to remove dead skin from cuticles instead of a metal pusher.

Nail dirt remover-from Sephora, a tiny scoop like tool that fits under the tip of the nail to remove dirt, etc from under the nail.

Toe seperators- to keep toes apart while toe nail polish dries.

If you are a diabetic, check with your doctor before you use anything on your hands or feet.
