Teachers Continue To Strike In Penn Hills

PENN HILLS (KDKA) ― Classes are cancelled again today for students in Penn Hills School District as the teachers remain on strike.

More than 400 teachers hit the picket lines Thursday after contract talks broke down.

The teachers remain at odds with the district over pay and benefits.

The union and school district sat down with a state mediator Wednesday night; however, a spokesperson for the union said little was accomplished.

Another meeting between the two sides is scheduled for this afternoon.

Teachers have been without a contract since the beginning of the school year.
