Latrobe Educator Is Pa. Teacher Of The Year

LATROBE (KDKA) ― A teacher from Westmoreland County has been named the 2009 Pennsylvania teacher of the year.

Rebecca Snyder has been a language arts teacher at Latrobe Area High School for 11 years.

She was presented with the award Tuesday morning at a ceremony in Harrisburg.

Snyder will now move on to the national teacher of the year competition.

In April, she'll travel to Washington D.C. to meet the newly elected president.

Snyder teaches film media and 11th-grade English.
