Pgh School District Support Staff Approve Contract

PITTSBURGH (AP) ― The union representing about 800 technical-clerical workers and classroom support staff in the Pittsburgh Public Schools has approved a new three-year contract.

The vote means the school board must now vote on the deal Wednesday.

The workers, represented by the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, have voted 367-31 in favor of the deal.

It includes annual raises, continued medical benefits, and cumulative sick leave.

The deal also includes medical benefits for domestic partners of employees.
