Pittsburgh Math Coach Investigated For Child Porn

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― A math coach has been suspended with pay from the Sunnyside Elementary School in Stanton Heights, after a federal criminal investigation into child pornography.

He's been tutoring at the school for about two and a half years, according to district sources,

The employee implicated in the investigation began chatting online with an out-of-state woman, who he believed was the mother of two children. In fact, though, "she" turned out to be a federal agent.

Sources say the math tutor suggested in graphic detail how the woman should have sexual relations with her children.

Federal investigators have seized computers from the man's East Liberty home, and the school district has turned computers over to investigators which the employee had access to in the Sunnyside school.

Even though the man's alleged criminal computer activity occurred out of school hours, and off of school property, we've learned that investigators have interviewed at least one Sunnyside student about the math coach.

The new school year for students in Pittsburgh Public Schools begins next week.
