Seneca Valley Parents Remain Frustrated

Teachers, District Agree To Meet This Weekend

CRANBERRY (KDKA) ―

Frustrations are mounting among parents in the Seneca Valley School District after the teachers and district officials have so far been unable to strike a deal.

The teachers have been on the picket lines for weeks because they had been working without a contract.  Salaries were the biggest sticking point in negotiations.

As the strike enters its fourth week, some parents say they're upset and believe their children are paying the price.

Meantime, there could be an end in sight.  The teachers and the school board have agreed to meet on Sunday without their professional mediators present.

By law, the teachers must return to the classroom by October 16th.
