Schenley H.S. Fate Could Be Decided Tonight

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― There could be a decision tonight on the fate of Schenley High School.

Pittsburgh City School Board members are set to vote on whether the Oakland building should be closed or renovated.

Superintendent Mark Roosevelt says it will cost the district millions of dollars to restore the 92-year-old building.

He has said that the building is dangerous for staff and students because of asbestos and deterioration.

But teachers, parents and students have been protesting the plans to close the school for months.

Last week, a group of supporters held a rally in front of the Board of Education.

Stay with KDKA for the latest details.
