Colfax Student Says Man Fondled Her Outside School
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Police already investigating several reports of men fondling female students as they walked to two Pittsburgh elementary schools are now looking into another new case involving a student outside a third city school.
According to officials, the latest incident happened around 8:30am this morning at the intersection of Phillips Avenue and Beechwood Boulevard near Colfax Elementary School.
A white man reportedly approached two students, aged 13 and 14, and inappropriately touched one of the girls under her skirt.
The suspect is described as about 6-feet tall with a thin build and brown hair, wearing baggy blue jeans, a white T-shirt and white shoes.
Police are investigating similar incidents involving students walking to Minadeo and Grandview Elementary Schools in the last few weeks.
On Monday, May 19th, a 10-year-old girl reported that a man touched her backside as she walked home from Minadeo Elementary School in Squirrel Hill. The next day, another student reported a similar incident.
Another suspect is also wanted for inappropriately touching students at least three students outside Grandview Elementary School in the Allentown section of the city.
Police released sketches of the suspects about a week ago; but so far, they have not made any arrests.
Anyone with information is urged to call police.
In the meantime, police say students should walk to and from school in groups and avoid talking to strangers.
