Park Elementary Reopens After Asbestos Concerns

MUNHALL (KDKA) ― An elementary school in the Steel Valley School District reopened this morning.

Students returned to Park Elementary in Munhall.

Asbestos was found in roof material during removal which led to the closure.

During that time, Park students attended Barrett Elementary in Homestead.

District officials say work on the roof replacement will continue and is slated to finish at the end of October.

The Allegheny County Health Department has giving the okay for students return.
