Recall Roundup: April 13, 2009

(KDKA) The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling some products that could put your family in danger, from children's and women's shoes to a potential fire hazard in the kitchen.

That fire hazard is the GE Profile Freestanding 30 inch dual fuel range.

GE is asking owners to immediately stop using their oven.

The wiring in the rear of the range can overheat, causing a fire or burn hazard.

GE has already received 47 reports of ranges overheating, including 33 that caught fire and caused property damage.

The GE ranges sold at department and appliance stores from June 2002 through December 2005 for between $1,300 and $2,000.

The ranges sold in black, white, bisque and stainless steel.

GE says consumers can continue to use the cook top burners, but should stop using the oven immediately and contact GE for a free repair.

Women wearing Wal-Mart shoes could be in for a fall.

Wal-Mart is recalling more than 200,000 pairs of shoes under the George brand.

The heels on the sling-back, pointed toe shoes can easily come off causing consumers to fall.

The shoes were sold in black, gray and purple between June and December 2008 for about $13.

Wal-Mart says stop wearing the shoes and return them to the nearest store for a full refund.

If your children are wearing Wal-Mart shoes, they could be in danger, too.

Wal-Mart is recalling CARS fleece clog children's shoes.

Each shoe has four decorative wheels that can come off and cause a choking hazard for young children.

The red car shoes were sold at Wal-Mart stores between September 2008 and March 2009 for between $6 and $10.

You'll want to take those shoes away from children immediately and return them to any Wal-Mart store for a full refund.
