Latest Recalls Include DVD Player, Garlic Slicer

(KDKA) The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced some new recalls for products that could be in your home.

Office Max is recalling 216,000 task chairs with model numbers OM182 and OM96614.

These chairs sold at Office Max stores, on their website and in their catalog from September 2003 through July 2008 for about $65.

Officials say the back and the base post of the chair can break and pose a fall hazard. There have been 15 reported injuries from the chairs.

Consumers are being asked to stop using the chair and return it to any Office Max store for a full refund if you have your receipt, or a $55 gift card if you don't.

Meanwhile, Wal-Mart is expanding an earlier recall of Durabrand DVD players to cover more than 4 million of the devices, including not only the silver model but the pink and purple models now as well.

These sold in Wal-Mart stores from January 2006 through this past July for about $29.

Officials say the player's circuit board can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard.

Check the model number and if your player is in the recall, you are being asked to stop using it and return it to any Wal-Mart for a full refund.

Finally, Trudeau Corporation is recalling 22,000 Garlic Duo Slicers which sold in department and retail stores for about $20.

The slicer blades can break during use, posing a laceration hazard.

Check the model number and if your slicer is included in the recall, stop using it and contact Trudeau for directions on how to receive a free replacement as well as a complimentary set of measuring spoons.
