CPSC Officials Issue Latest Recalls For Consumers

(KDKA) Officials have issued some new recalls today on products that could be dangerous and found right inside your home.

The Cooks Deep Fryer sold at JC Penney's stores nationwide in the last year is on the list. Officials say Model # 22016 is recalled due to a faulty heating element that has caused at least one burn and three damaged countertops.

The product was sold in catalogs and online from August of last year through January for about $50.

Consumers are being advised to immediately stop using the deep fryer and return it their nearest JC Penney's store for a full refund.

Also on the list is the Ellaroo Ring Sling Baby Carrier. Officials say the aluminum rings on the sling carrier can bend or break allowing the fabric to slip out of the rings and infants to fall out of the carrier.

These carriers were sold in department stores, children's stores and online including BabiesRUs.com from June of last year through this February for about $100.

Consumers are being asked to contact Ellaroo for model numbers and to arrange to return the carrier for a repair or replacement.

The X Force Commander Toy Airplanes and Super Famous Toy Cars and Motorcycles by S.U. Wholesale is being recalled over lead concerns.

Officials say these toys were sold at dollar stores nationwide from September 2006 through November 2007 for about $1. The toys can be returned to the store where you bought them for a refund.
