FDA Recalls Ice Cream Over Label Mistake

(AP) Pierre's Homestyle Dutch Chocolate Ice Cream is being recalled because it may contain undeclared peanut butter cup candies.

The ice cream is sold in purple 56 fl. oz. packages. The packaging does not reveal the presence of peanut butter candy or peanuts on the ingredient label.

The containers are identified with the code 07320, which is printed on the rim of the lid.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of developing a life-threatening health problem or illness if they consume this batch of Dutch Chocolate.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The ice cream was distributed in Ohio, Michigan, Western Pennsylvania, and Indiana and reached consumers through retail stores.
