CPSC Recalls Coffeemakers, Bikes, Fitness Balls

(KDKA) The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling some products that could pose some dangers for your family.

Before you brew your next cup of joe, make sure you don't have a Philips Senseo One-Cup coffeemaker.

The coffeemaker has been recalled because the build-up of calcium from water can cause the boiler to burst.

Experts say the coffee makers were sold nationwide between July 2006 and March 2009 for $60 to $140.

Anyone with this product is being urged to contact Philips for a free replacement unit.

Fitness balls are the key to many workouts, but EB Brands of Yonkers, New York is recalling about three million of them.

Experts say over-inflated fitness balls can unexpectedly burst while in use.

They were sold in various colors with the Bally Total Fitness, Everlast or Valeo logos printed on the ball.

The fitness balls were sold nationwide from May 2000 to February 2009 for between $15 and $30.

Officials say consumers can contact EB Brands for a copy of the updated instructions on how to safely inflate the ball.

Meanwhile, some problems with bicycles made by specialized bicycle components of Morgan Hill, California have resulted in two recalls.

The first recall involves 2009 specialized bicycles: Cross Trail Comp, Myka HT Comp, Myka HT Elite, Rockhopper, Rockhopper Comp and Rockhopper Comp 29.

Experts say the handlebars on these models can break causing head trauma.

The bikes were sold at authorized dealers nationwide from June 2008 to February 2009 for between $640 and $1,050.

Officials say consumers can contact a dealer for a free replacement handlebar.

Another bicycle recall from the same company involves the cable stop. It can loose and cause a rider to lose control and fall from the bike.

This recall involves the 2004 Roubaix Comp and Roubaix Pro models.

Only models with a single rivet fastening the cable stop to the frame are subject to the recall.

The bicycles were sold from September 2003 to August 2004 for between $1,600 and $4,000.

If you have one of these bicycles return it to the dealer for a free approved repair.
