Select Washing Machines, Swing Sets Face Recalls

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― New home item recalls have been announced, possibly affecting your laundry room and backyard.

Frigidaire has recalled nearly 35,000 washing machines due to a fire hazard. The washers' drain pump is faulty, and can cause heat to build up. These machines were sold at Sears and other stores between February and May, costing anywhere between $300 and $1,000.

This recall includes 19 models of top-loading washers under brand names Crosley, Frigidaire, Kelvinator and White Westinghouse. Eight front-loaders fall under the recall as well, including brand names Crosley, Frigidaire, Wascomat and White Westinghouse.

The model and serial number of the machines can be found on the door or lid. If you do have one of these recalled washing machines, unplug it immediately and call Frigidaire to schedule a free repair.

Also recalled is a Little Tikes Clubhouse swing set sold at retailers including Toys R Us and Walmart from October 2008 to March 2009. It cost about $450.

The version with blue seats did not come with assembly instructions for the swing seat harness, and if assembled improperly could end in it coming loose. If you own one of these swing sets, stop using it immediately and contact Little Tikes for complete assembly instructions.
