KDKA Poll: Clinton Gains Ground In Pa.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― With two weeks until Pennsylvania's primary election, Hillary Clinton continues to have a large margin here in the Keystone State.

If the race were held today, a KDKA-TV News poll, conducted by Survey USA, shows Senator Hillary Clinton would defeat Senator Barack Obama 56 to 38 percent.

The results are almost identical to a poll released one month ago.

Last week in a tracking poll for KDKA-TV, Obama had closed to within 12 points.

Pollsters say the swing can be attributed to a few key factors.

Apparently, some of the men who flirted with Obama at the end of March have returned to Clinton.

Other men have moved to the sidelines.

Last week, Obama led by 7 among men and men were 46 percent of likely voters.

Today, Clinton leads among men and men are 42 percent of likely voters.

Obama also lost ground among voters age 35 to 49.

A week ago, he had caught Clinton in this age group.

By contrast, there is no movement among voters age 50 and older.

Clinton's lead among voters 50+ is stable across all three tracking polls.

In Southwest Pennsylvania, Clinton polls at 60 percent for the first time, 25 points atop Obama.

The margin of sampling error in today's poll is ± 4.1 percent.
