Protestors Gather Outside Palin Fundraiser

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin attended a private fundraiser downtown at the Westin Convention Center Hotel, where there was a $1,000-a-plate dinner.

On the corner of 10th Street and Penn Avenue, however, there were hundreds of protestors. Most of them were holding Obama/Biden signs, but there were a few pro McCain/Palin signs in the crowd as well.

Allegheny County Republican Party Chairman Jim Roddey is the master of ceremonies at the fundraiser, and hopes to raise a half a million dollars at the dinner. He said there were a few things he wanted to tell Governor Sarah Palin.

"I'm going to tell her that we really have to concentrate on two things. The John McCain and Sarah Palin, look at what they've accomplished. She's been a mayor; she's become a governor of a state. He's got a twenty year track record in the Senate, and a 26 year record in the navy. Great accomplishments and he's a man of character. We don't know that much about Obama," Roddey said.

Police are keeping protesters across the street from the Westin Hotel. Jim Roddey said he thinks this race is still winnable for the Republicans, however, because of the economy things will be really tight.
