Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney Honored In DC

WASHINGTON (KDKA) ― Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney was honored in Washington, DC.

He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Washington's American Ireland Fund.

But it's the subtext that's getting all the attention.

At a dinner attended by politicos and the Prime Minister of Ireland, everyone's talking about how Rooney could be named Ambassador to Ireland.

Rooney is refusing to comment on the subject which only feeds the speculation.

It's up to President Obama to appoint ambassadors and Rooney was a big Obama supporter during last year's campaign.
