"Polar Lights" Coming To Pittsburgh Zoo

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― There's a wintry treat for those who love the twinkling lights of the season.

The Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium is holding its "Polar Lights Display" later this week and tonight there was a sneak preview.

The exhibit will feature carolers, Santa Claus and activities for the whole family.

Even the polar bears are getting in on the act with the addition of white snowflakes projected onto the walls of their digs.

"This is different than any other light display because it's more of a light show and demonstration that rivals the northern lights, auror borealis than it is just paths lined with lights," said Connie George, the zoo's Director of Marketing and P.R.

The display runs from 6 to 9 p.m. starting Friday and runs through December 30th.
