Mandrill Undergoes ACL Surgery At Pittsburgh Zoo

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― An animal at the Pittsburgh Zoo had an operation by world renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Freddy Fu.

Johnny the mandrill had ACL problems severe enough that he had to have surgery.

While Johnny was in the best of hands, Dr. Fu was able to use the procedure for research in hopes of learning more about the ACL.

Johnny should make a full recovery.

He's the first ever mandrill at the Pittsburgh Zoo to receive an arthroscopic procedure.
