PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Pittsburgh's "Parade of Champions" runs this weekend at the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum and the Heinz History Center.

The three-day exhibit honors the area's legendary sports teams and athletes as Pittsburgh continues its yearlong celebration marking its 250th anniversary.

The Parade of Champions display includes the Steelers' Super Bowl trophies, the Pirates' World Series trophies, Penguins' memorabilia, along with photos, a reel of memorable sports highlights and appearances by local team mascots.

Also, a long list of famous Pittsburgh athletes is also scheduled to appear at the event, from Franco Harris to Bill Mazeroski to Phil Bourque.

Sports fans started filing into the exhibit this morning.

"I'm a big Pirates fan, so the World Series trophies are pretty cool," said Dillion Galber, of Belle Vernon. "We just got a picture of the Super Bowl trophy. That was pretty cool. This is fun. If you're a Pittsburgh sports fan you've got to be down here."

Saturday, the celebration starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 9 p.m.

Then, on Sunday, the event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Stay with KDKA for much more on the Parade of Champions.
