"Parade of Champions" To Celebrate Pgh. Sports
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Through the years the Pittsburgh Area has produced some tremendous professional teams and Hall of Fame athletes.
Now sports fans of all ages will get their chance to meet players from the Penguins, Pirates and Steelers, past and present.
Today, the curator of the Heinz History Center announces plans for a three-day fan festival called the "Federated Investors Parade of Champions" to be held this June.
It's part of the celebration of Pittsburgh's 250th celebration.
"Imagine the Smithsonian meets the biggest fan fest you've ever been to. That's what the Parade of Champions is going to be," Heinz History Center Curator Andy Masich said.
The three-day festival is scheduled for June 20-22 and includes autographs from former champion athletes, interactive sports activities, highlight videos and much more.
Adult admission is $20 for a one-day pass and $50 for a three day pass.
Children under 12 are $12.50 and
children under six are admitted free.
