Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato announced their support for a major initiative that will promote the region.
Both of them were joined by a host of other leaders to launch the first integrated marketing effort designed to drive economic growth in western Pennsylvania.
It's called: "Pittsburgh Imagine what you can do here."
This morning, a series of ads were unveiled at the Heinz History Center.
It's an effort designed to attract tourists and spur business development in the 10-county region through 2008, when the city celebrates its 250th Anniversary.
"Reality has to change what the perception is because Pittsburgh and the region is on the move," said Onorato. "We're rebounding, things are looking very bright, from the airport corridor to downtown housing, to the Brownfield developments, to the counties around us."
The ads will be published in national and local publications by the end of the year.
