Game Commission Seizes Bear Cub From Local Home

JEFFERSON HILLS (KDKA/AP) ― A black bear cub was seized from a residence in Jefferson Hills.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission was given a tip last week that the owner was keeping the animal as a pet.

The man says he bought the cub about two months ago in Ohio, in hopes to raise the bear for a short time before selling it.

Officers say the owner did not have the required permit and that the bear cannot be released back into the wild.
