Dachshunds Rescued From W.Va. Puppy Mill

MARKLEYBURG (KDKA) ― Sixty six dachshunds are looking for a new home in Pennsylvania today after being rescued from a puppy mill in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Dona Show, Pennsylvania's lead representative from Dachshund Rescue of North America, picked up the dogs on Wednesday from the Parkersburg Humane Society.

They're now temporarily living in her Markleyburg, Fayette County home until they can be placed with families or in foster homes.

The dogs are 66 of around 1,000 dachshunds that were rescued from the Whispering Oaks kennels in West Virginia.

The dogs are now being treated for any medical problems so they will be ready for adoption.

Many have spent their whole lives living in wire cages.

If you are interested in adoption, you can apply on DRNA's website.
