Pitt Panthers Defeat Buffalo, 54-27
AMHERST, N.Y. (KDKA/AP) ―
The Pitt Panthers rolled past Buffalo Saturday afternoon with a 54-27 victory.
Bill Stull threw three first-half touchdowns to Dorin Dickerson, while Dion Lewis rushed for 190 yards.
Stull was 21-for-30 passing for 172 yards.
He connected with Dickerson for 23 yards and also scored on a 3-yard rollout, putting Pitt up 34-14 before halftime.
Then, Lewis capped the win with an 85-yard touchdown run with 4:44 left in the fourth quarter.
Buffalo got four touchdown passes from Zach Maynard. He threw for 400 yards in his home debut as a starter.
Maynard connected with Naaman Roosevelt for scoring plays of 67 and 54 yards, also throwing touchdowns to Jesse Rack and Brandon Thermilus.
But it was four Buffalo turnovers that led to 27 Pittsburgh points.
The Panthers will take on Navy at 6 p.m. next Saturday, September 19th, at Heinz Field.
