A 4-year-old girl was injured and her grandfather was killed during a house explosion in Plum, Pa. on Wednesday afternoon.
Officials said the girl was flown from the scene by STAT MedEvac to Mercy Hospital in critical condition with injuries to her leg and face.
CBS station KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh reported that the initial house involved in the explosion is still on fire and the neighboring houses on either side are heavily damaged.
According to KDKA, one house was destroyed, three sustained major damage, and 15 homes had minor to moderate damage. Forty others homes were evacuated.
Plum borough is about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh.
Officials are investigating the cause of the explosion.
