Plane Diverted After Flight Attendant Attacked

NYC To Paris American Flight Forced To Land In Boston

BOSTON (CBS) ― Immigration officials say a French national will be deported after striking an attendant during a flight from New York to Paris that had to be diverted to Boston.
American Airlines Flight 44 landed Wednesday night at Logan International Airport. A Logan spokesman says no one was hurt.

The French man was taken into custody by state police and then turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An immigration spokeswoman says the man was in violation of immigration rules and will be deported. She wasn't specific about the violation, except to say it was not related to his actions on the 136-passenger flight from Kennedy airport.
