Passengers on a United Airlines flight at Chicago's O'Hare Airport were forced to evacuate down emergency slides Friday afternoon.
United Airlines Flight 836 from Shanghai was evacuated after the pilot reported an emergency in the cabin. The pilot reported the emergency at 3:45 p.m. The plane landed at 4 p.m. The passengers slid down the emergency chutes and were taken by bus to the terminal. There were 258 passengers and 15 crew members on board.
One person on the aircraft suffered minor injuries.
Fire department scanner traffic indicated that there was smoke in the cabin. The plane was seen near Runway 10 with all of its inflatable slides deployed.
