Storms Soak Local Area, More May Be On The Way

Weather: Current Conditions | Local Radar | Weather Map

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― After terrible storms moved across the area Wednesday night, forecasters say local residents will see a break in the severe weather today, but more could be on the way.

Wednesday night's storms were nightmarish with funnel clouds, hail and torrential rain, which were reminiscent of the remnants of Hurricane Ivan back in 2004.

KDKA Meteorologist Dennis Bowman reports that as much as four inches of rain soaked parts of Allegheny County Wednesday.

Bowman says today will bring a break in the action with partly sunny skies developing.

Today's high is forecasted to hit around 75 degrees.

However, Bowman says Friday may bring another round of severe weather with thunderstorms moving in for the afternoon and evening.
