Man Charged With Homicide In Verona Death

VERONA (KDKA) ― Allegheny County Police plan to file homicide charges in the death of a Verona man.

Paramedics found 49-year-old Mark Bigenho unresponsive in his daughter's Allegheny River Boulevard apartment early Saturday morning.

He was still breathing, but he later died at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office says Bigenho died from blunt force trauma to the head and ruled his death a homicide.

County police are charging Steven Williams, 26, with criminal homicide. He lived with Bigenho's daughter at the apartment.

Williams admits they argued about rent money, but says he didn't kill anyone.

"This is my future father-in-law – are you kidding me? Why would I … do something like that," he told reporters as police led him away in handcuffs. "I love the guy – rest in peace."

Williams is also facing one count of tampering with evidence.
