Trial Underway For Teen In Adoptive Father's Death

INDIANA (KDKA) ― Opening statements began today in the trial of a 17 year old Indiana County girl on trial for murder.

Codee Wheeler is accused of killing her adoptive father, William Wheeler by setting fire to her home in Blairsville last year.

Police say the teen talked about killing her father while staying with another family earlier this year.

Wheeler maintains she's innocent.

She's being tried as an adult and faces life in prison if convicted.
