Ex-Teacher's Aide Charged In Hotel Incident

NEW KENSINGTON (KDKA) ― A former Highlands High School teachers' aide allegedly caught in a hotel with minors, alcohol and drugs is facing charges.

Police have charged Abbiejane Swogger with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and four counts of corruption of a minor.  Bond has been set at $25,000.

Police say Swogger had several minors stay with her at the New Kensington Clarion Hotel last Thursday to Friday, where they also found cocaine, beer, remnants of pot and condom wrappers.

In an interview yesterday, Swogger said she doesn't understand why charges would be filed because she did not do anything illegal.

"I did not serve them any alcohol," said Swogger. "If there was marijuana there, it was not mine. And the condom wrappers, yes. I did not have any sex -- nothing.  I did not have any sex with anyone."

Swogger said that though that there were people having sex in the room that night.

It was unclear whether they were minors or adults. There's no word yet on whether anyone else will be charged in this case.
