Ex-Moon Teacher To Stand Trial On Sex Charges
PITTSBURGH (AP) ―
A former Pittsburgh-area high school teacher will stand trial on charges she had sex with a 14-year-old student and sent him nude photos of herself.
In December, 26-year-old Beth Ann Chester resigned her post as a health and physical education teacher at Moon Area High School.
She stepped down immediately after the allegations first surfaced.
Chester's attorney Robert DelGreco says his client waived her right to a preliminary hearing today.
She faces at least five sexual assault charges.
DelGreco says he will likely try to reach a deal with the district attorney rather than go to trial.
Police say Chester confessed to having sex with the boy in her car in the school parking lot.
Police also say they have cellphone text messages Chester sent the boy, including nude photos of herself.
Earlier this month, the boy told police he had fallen in love with Chester.
He denied having physical contact with her.
